Ministry Of Higher Education And Emirates Group Join Forces To Enhance Scholarship Programme For Emirati Students

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) has partnered with the Emirates Group to enhance scholarship programmes for UAE nationals. This collaboration aims to align educational outcomes with job market needs, supporting the country's strategic goals by developing skilled Emirati talent in future sectors.

H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, expressed commitment to empowering Emiratis through diverse career pathways and development programmes. "The Emirates Group is committed to empowering Emiratis by providing a wide range of career pathways and tailored development programmes designed to equip them for long-term success and growth," he stated.

The agreement facilitates Emirati students' transition from higher education to employment by offering practical training, career guidance, and guaranteed jobs after graduation. It was signed by H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum and Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation and Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in the presence of senior officials.

Dr. Al Awar highlighted that this partnership is a strategic move to improve higher education quality while aligning it with national economic needs. He noted that the collaboration provides students with advanced educational opportunities that combine academic learning with practical experience, enhancing their readiness for the job market.

MoHESR will annually allocate scholarships for new and continuing Emirati students as part of this partnership. The Ministry will coordinate with the Emirates Group to identify study destinations, select universities, set admission criteria, and recruit candidates. MoHESR will manage applications and make final decisions on scholarship recipients in coordination with the Emirates Group.

Upon graduation, students will transition into roles within the Emirates Group that match their qualifications and experience. This initiative ensures job stability while fostering academic achievement and professional excellence simultaneously.

Long-term Career Development

The Emirates Group will support scholarship students with systematic professional training throughout their studies, equipping them for successful workforce integration. Graduates will receive full-time or part-time employment based on operational needs within the group.
