Microsoft Names Amr Kamel As General Manager For UAE To Propel Digital And AI Growth
Microsoft has recently named Amr Kamel as the new General Manager for the UAE. With nearly two decades of service at Microsoft, Kamel possesses extensive experience, particularly in the Middle East and Africa.
His appointment is aimed at driving forward the UAE's digital and AI development goals, enhancing economic growth sustainably, and aiding various stakeholders in exploiting the benefits of cloud technology and artificial intelligence comprehensively.

Kamel's previous position as General Manager – Global Partner Solutions for Microsoft covered Central & Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. His contributions were pivotal in enhancing Microsoft's partner network and introducing advanced solutions across these regions. His leadership in the strategic alliance with the UAE-based AI technology holding company G42 has been notable, promoting secure, ethical, and advanced AI capabilities.
This collaboration has introduced a unique sovereign cloud service that caters to the public sector and regulated industries, offering specialised AI innovation while maintaining data security and compliance. Kamel is set to continue overseeing the relationship with G42 in his new role.
