MBRF Launches Second Dubai International Programme For Writing Workshop In Tunisia To Nurture Young Talents

The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) has initiated the second workshop of the Dubai International Programme for Writing (DIPW) in Tunisia. This workshop, themed ‘Workshop on Creating Illustrations for Children’s Stories,’ is led by Dr. Wafa Thabet Mezghani, a creative writing coach and professor at the Higher Institute of Technological Studies of Sfax. The initiative aims to nurture young talent in children's literature.

Running until July 2025, this workshop includes twelve practical sessions for ten young Tunisian and Arab writers passionate about children's literature. These sessions focus on enhancing literary skills while preserving Arab authenticity. The programme aligns with DIPW's ongoing efforts to cultivate a new generation of talented individuals in this field.

The workshop aims to enrich Arabic children’s literature with modern content that meets the needs of today's children while maintaining cultural identity. It covers creative writing methods, storytelling techniques for children, and narrative development aligned with contemporary cultural trends. This approach ensures a balance between innovation and tradition.

Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of MBRF, stated, "Through such initiatives, we seek to underscore our vision for Arab literary production and to foster innovation in the children’s literature field. We strongly believe that investing in young talents and directing them towards specialised writing fields is the key to creating a strong Arab knowledge society, capable of navigating global transformations."

DIPW continues its commitment to supporting the literary landscape across the Arab world by enhancing writing skills and developing young writers' capabilities. It provides platforms for these writers to publish their works, contributing significantly to building a new generation of creative authors and translators.

The programme also facilitates interaction between Arabic intellectual works and their global counterparts. This interaction plays a crucial role in enriching the knowledge landscape both regionally and globally, reinforcing DIPW's substantial role in empowering youth.

By focusing on specialised training workshops, DIPW reaffirms its dedication to launching top-notch initiatives that empower young talents. These efforts are pivotal in fostering an innovative environment where young writers can thrive and contribute meaningfully to the literary world.
