MBRF’s Book Criticism Workshop In Jordan Enhances Literary Skills With AI Tools
The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) has introduced a 'Book Criticism Workshop' in Jordan. This initiative is part of the Dubai International Programme for Writing (DIPW), aiming to cultivate Arab talent by enhancing their skills in knowledge development and dissemination. The workshop focuses on improving participants' reading and writing abilities, particularly in literary narration and criticism.
Participants will learn to master four levels of reading: elementary, inspectional, analytical, and syntopical. The workshop also aims to enhance writing skills across various forms, such as artistic summaries, book reviews, articles, and reports. It guides participants in preparing study outlines, drafting research papers, and authoring books using a structured approach.

This workshop uniquely integrates artificial intelligence (AI) tools like ChatGPT and DeepSeek. These technologies assist in accelerating recall, documentation, and text generation but do not perform deep critical analysis. By managing preliminary tasks, they allow researchers to focus on advanced work, redefining intellectual creativity boundaries in the AI era.
Dr. Jamal Maqableh from Hashemite University leads the workshop. He stated that it offers young people a chance to develop skills and expand intellectual horizons. "This motivational workshop is a part of MBRF’s constant efforts to empower and support literature enthusiasts," he said. Participants can interact with authors and gain insights into different literary forms and styles.
The workshop includes reading books, presentations, discussions, debates, follow-ups, and multimedia recordings. It aims to equip participants with skills for deep reading and precise writing through an integrated training regimen that progresses from comprehension to critical evaluation.
Participants will receive training in diverse critical methodologies such as classical criticism and contemporary movements. The program also expands on literary theory studies, the philosophy of criticism, and its applications. This comprehensive approach enhances engagement with texts while reshaping reader-text dynamics in the digital age.
Focus on Cultural Transformations
The workshop emphasizes critiquing works by Emirati and GCC authors while exploring contemporary literary topics related to cultural transformations in the Arab world. Participants will hone skills in text summarisation and analysis alongside writing articles, reports, critical reviews, and research proposals adhering to linguistic standards.
At the end of the workshop, participants will submit fully developed articles, studies, reports, and research for publication through individual or collaborative efforts. This process ensures their work is refined for public dissemination.
