Mashreq Appoints Xi Liang As New Head Of Artificial Intelligence To Drive Banking Innovation
Xi Liang joins Mashreq bringing over 15 years of experience in artificial intelligence (AI) to her new role as Head of Artificial Intelligence. With a background in banking, retail, healthcare, and consulting, her expertise in creating scalable, responsible AI systems is set to drive significant advancements in customer experience, operational efficiency, and Mashreq's competitive positioning in the market.
Having held leadership positions at notable organisations like Judo Bank and Endeavour Group, and engaged in advisory capacities at McKinsey & Company, Liang's career is distinguished by her contributions to AI development. Notably, her work at IBM led to the granting of four patents and her research has been published in prestigious journals, signaling her capability to innovate and implement cutting-edge AI technologies.

Mohamed Abdel Razek, Group Head of Transformation, Technology, and Information at Mashreq, expressed enthusiasm about Liang's appointment, highlighting her vast experience in developing enterprise-scale AI solutions and her dedication to maintaining ethical standards in AI utilisation.
