Masfout’s Recognition As World’s Best Tourism Village Highlights UAE’s Leadership In Sustainable Tourism
The UAE's tourism sector has achieved a significant milestone with Masfout Village being named the "World's Best Tourism Village 2025." Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, highlighted this as a pivotal moment for Emirati tourism. He stated that it underscores the UAE’s esteemed status in global tourism, particularly in sustainable and rural tourism.
Bin Touq emphasised that this accolade is a testament to the UAE’s leadership in sustainable tourism. It reflects the nation’s ongoing efforts to enhance its tourism sector and contribute to socio-economic development. The recognition aligns with national initiatives aimed at balanced development, such as the "Emirates Villages project." This project focuses on creating a sustainable development model for UAE villages while preserving their natural and cultural heritage.

The UAE has embraced a forward-thinking approach to boost the sustainability and competitiveness of its tourism industry. The country has launched various projects that balance economic growth with environmental conservation. These initiatives focus on developing green, eco, agricultural, and rural tourism models that protect the UAE’s tourism identity while advancing the National Tourism Strategy 2031.
Bin Touq noted that these efforts are part of a broader vision to position tourism as a key driver of economic growth. The nation aims to strengthen its role by implementing innovative projects across all seven emirates. This strategy not only enhances the sector but also supports local economies through diverse and creative tourism activities.
In line with these objectives, the Ministry of Economy and Tourism launched the fifth edition of the "World's Coolest Winter" campaign from Masfout last December. This campaign highlights Masfout’s natural beauty and rural tourism assets, showcasing its rich environmental and cultural diversity. Bin Touq stated, "Our goal has been to ensure that tourism in Masfout enhances quality of life, strengthens family stability, and supports local economies through diverse and innovative tourism activities."
The recognition of Masfout Village as a top tourist destination supports pioneering national initiatives for balanced development. These initiatives aim to bolster sustainable development across all emirates while promoting unique tourist attractions. The focus remains on preserving cultural heritage while fostering innovative projects that align with environmental goals.
This achievement marks another chapter in the UAE's success story under wise leadership. It highlights how strategic planning in sustainable tourism can lead to international acclaim. By prioritising eco-friendly practices and community involvement, the UAE continues to set an example for other nations aiming for similar success in global tourism.
