Masdar And Presight Collaborate On AI Asset Management Tool For Renewable Energy Projects
Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC, known as Masdar, has entered into a partnership with Presight, a prominent big data analytics firm utilizing generative artificial intelligence (AI). This collaboration aims to create an asset management tool for Masdar's global renewable energy initiatives. The tool will harness AI to enhance efficiency and decision-making by analysing the vast data generated daily from equipment like solar panels and wind turbines.
Masdar's renewable projects produce billions of data points each day. These data points come from various equipment such as solar panels, inverters, and wind turbines. By analysing this extensive data, valuable insights can be derived to support informed decision-making processes. This initiative is part of Masdar's strategy to transition from reactive operations to a predictive model.

The integration of AI in the energy sector is seen as transformative. It enhances efficiency and operational patterns while using predictive analytics to optimise energy grids and improve resilience. AI supports the seamless integration of renewable energy with other sources, making energy supply smarter and more efficient.
Masdar CEO Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi stated, "With our history of developing projects using cutting-edge clean energy technologies, it was a natural progression for Masdar to explore the potential for deploying AI across energy systems to enhance efficiency and deliver data-driven decision-making." He emphasised that integrating AI with energy presents a significant economic opportunity for building a low-carbon future.
Thomas Pramotedham, CEO of Presight, highlighted the unique operational needs of clean energy. He noted that managing fluctuating supply throughout the day and efficiently integrating with other grid energies are crucial aspects. Their collaboration with Masdar aims to address these challenges through advanced AI solutions.
Since its inception in 2006, Masdar has played a pivotal role in advancing the UAE’s sustainability goals. The company has been involved in projects across more than 40 countries. It aims to expand its renewable energy capacity to 100GW by 2030 and become a leading green hydrogen producer by then.
This agreement between Masdar and Presight signifies a step towards achieving these ambitious targets. By leveraging AI technology, they aim to enhance their renewable energy operations globally, ensuring increased efficiency and reduced downtime.
