Mansoor Bin Mohammed Reviews Strategic Initiatives Of Dubai Customs For Enhanced Border Security
H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council, recently visited Dubai Customs headquarters. He reviewed their strategic development plans and operational improvements. During his visit, he highlighted the essential role of Dubai Customs in strengthening Dubai's security framework and enhancing safety at border crossings.
Sheikh Mansoor was accompanied by Dr. Abdulla Busenad, Director General of Dubai Customs, and His Excellency Omar Ali Salem Al Maidoor, Secretary General of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council. He praised Dubai Customs for its ongoing efforts to launch strategic initiatives aimed at maintaining leadership in the customs sector.
Sheikh Mansoor emphasised that these initiatives align with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. "In line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, we are committed to ensuring the highest levels of safety and security at our border crossing points," he stated.
He also noted that Dubai Customs collaborates closely with key government entities to anticipate future challenges. This collaboration ensures readiness for a future driven by innovation, technology, and sustainability. It significantly contributes to Dubai’s goal of becoming one of the world’s top three urban economies.
During his visit, Sheikh Mansoor expressed appreciation for Dubai Customs' strategic projects that reflect its vision to lead global advancements in customs operations. He received a detailed briefing from Dr. Abdulla Busenad on these projects, developed with support from Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman of the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation.
Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem expressed gratitude for Sheikh Mansoor's visit. "H.H.’s guidance underscores the leadership’s focus on strengthening government operations, driving continuous development, and raising the efficiency of customs operations, all of which contribute to reinforcing the city’s position as a global trade hub," he said.
Focus on Border Security
The Hatta Gateway project was highlighted during the visit as a key initiative. This advanced customs centre will enhance security systems at borders using technological solutions like artificial intelligence. The project aims to expand capacity and ensure readiness for future border security challenges.
Omar Ali Salem Al Maidoor stressed collective efforts in border security. "H.H. emphasised the need for enhanced cooperation and information exchange between Dubai Customs and the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council to ensure optimal integration and efficiency," he noted.
Dr. Abdulla Busenad stated that Dubai Customs continues implementing innovative initiatives driven by technology to achieve high performance and security levels. These efforts support Dubai’s strategic goals while enhancing the role of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council in safeguarding borders.
The visit underscored commitment to developing a world-class customs system aligned with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33's goal for sustainable economic growth.
