Mansoor Bin Mohammed And Latifa Bint Mohammed Celebrate Excellence At The 24th Arab Media Award Ceremony

H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Olympic Committee, and H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, attended the 24th Arab Media Award (AMA) ceremony. Organised by the Dubai Press Club, this event was part of the Arab Media Summit at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

The ceremony was held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. It was guided by directives from H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council. The event attracted editors-in-chief, senior media leaders from the UAE and beyond, as well as notable writers.

H.H. Sheikh Ahmed highlighted that "The Arab Media Award reflects the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to position Dubai as a leading hub for Arab media and a platform that celebrates excellence and innovation in this vital sector." He emphasised media's role in shaping societal awareness and development.

He further stated that this year’s winners exemplify high standards in media practice through their dedication and professionalism. Their work demonstrates credibility, creativity, and responsibility. This recognition underscores professional media's role in preserving national identity and fostering dialogue.

The ceremony honoured nine winners across various categories. Notably, Iraqi journalist Fakhri Karim received the Media Personality of the Year award for his contributions to Arab journalism and his role in advancing journalism in Iraq. Suleiman Gouda from Al-Masry Al-Youm was awarded Best Columnist for his insightful analysis.

In television categories, awards were presented to shows like "Business with Lobna" on Sky News Arabia for Best Economic Programme and "Sabah Al Arabiya" on Al Arabiya for Best Social Programme. Other notable winners included "Sahibat Al Saada" on DMC for Best Cultural Programme.

Journalism Awards

The Arab Journalism awards recognised outstanding work in various fields. Mohamed Eissa from Al Ahram Al Arabi magazine won for Political Journalism with his piece on drones as a looming threat. Sameh El Laboudy from Asharq Al-Awsat was honoured for Investigative Journalism with his feature on ‘Salt Boat’ voyages.

El Sayed Zeidah and Mohamed Salman from Youm7 received accolades for their report on cryptocurrencies in Economic Journalism. These awards highlight significant contributions to journalism across different sectors.

A Platform for Professional Growth

Mona Al Marri congratulated all winners, noting that their achievements reflect His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s vision to establish Dubai as a central hub for Arab media excellence. She remarked that these professionals set benchmarks for quality and impact within the industry.

The Arab Media Award continues to celebrate innovative journalism that meets regional needs amidst rapid transformation. Organised by the Dubai Press Club, it remains a leading recognition platform in the Arab world with over 2,900 submissions this year alone.

The event concluded with H.H. Sheikh Mansoor taking a commemorative photo with all winners, marking another successful edition of recognising excellence in Arab media.
