Mansoor Bin Mohammed Opens AccessAbilities Expo 2025 To Promote Inclusion For People Of Determination
H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Higher Committee for the Protection of the Rights of People of Determination, inaugurated the 7th AccessAbilities Expo. This event features 270 exhibitors from 50 countries and is expected to draw over 15,000 global visitors. It is the largest expo of its kind in the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia.
The AccessAbilities Expo aligns with Dubai's Strategic Plan 2033, aiming to make the city an ideal place to live, work, and visit. It underscores the UAE's leadership in promoting inclusion and accessible infrastructure. The event reflects a commitment to sustainability and equal opportunities for all.
During his tour, H.H. Sheikh Mansoor explored various international and local pavilions alongside Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director-General of Dubai's Community Development Authority (CDA). They examined innovations from companies specialising in empowering People of Determination with advanced technological solutions.
At China's Changzhou Wonsh Ramp Industry stand, H.H. Sheikh Mansoor reviewed products designed for People of Determination. He also visited AccessRec’s pavilion from America to learn about their accessibility solutions for diverse environments.
Canada’s TrySight Inc showcased assistive devices for the visually impaired, while UK's Deal Progress presented innovative rehabilitation products. These innovations highlight efforts to improve accessibility and independence for People of Determination.
The exhibition features cutting-edge technologies addressing various disabilities including physical, visual, auditory, intellectual, and autism-related challenges. The World Health Organisation reports that only one in ten people needing assistive technology have access due to high costs or lack of trained personnel.
By 2030, over two billion people will need at least one assistive device. The global market is projected to reach $47.1 billion by 2031. This highlights the growing demand for affordable and accessible assistive technologies worldwide.
Exhibition Highlights
The event showcases AI-powered smart glasses offering real-time translation and visual support for the visually impaired. Advanced bionic limbs replicate natural movement to enhance independence. Smartphone apps connect People of Determination with specialised transport services.
Real-time voice and text recognition tools aid the deaf and hard of hearing. Digital solutions support innovative learning and communication for individuals on the autism spectrum. These technologies demonstrate significant advancements in assistive solutions.
The opening ceremony was attended by several dignitaries including Abdulla Mohammed Al Basti, Secretary General of The Executive Council of Dubai; Lieutenant-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police; Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri; Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al-Falasi; Dr. Alawi AlSheikh Ali; Aisha Abdulla Miran; Eng. Marwan bin Ghalita; Omar Bu Shehab; along with other senior officials and experts.
H.H. Sheikh Mansoor also visited pavilions from Dubai Municipality, Roads and Transport Authority, Dubai Airports, General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai Police, CDA, Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Dubai Duty Free, Emirates Airlines, Ministry of Family Development, Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment, Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, and Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination.
This expo serves as a vital platform advancing UAE’s efforts to empower People of Determination while showcasing its dedication towards inclusive growth through innovative solutions.
