Mansoor Bin Mohammed Chairs First Meeting Of Higher Committee For People Of Determination In 2025

H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum led the first 2025 meeting of the Higher Committee for the Protection of the Rights of People of Determination. Held at Al Jalila Children’s Development and Rehabilitation Center, the meeting included committee members and representatives from relevant government bodies. The focus was on enhancing social support systems for People of Determination in line with Dubai Social Agenda 33.

The committee reviewed various financial and social support initiatives for People of Determination in Dubai. Discussions covered caregiver assistance, medical and assistive devices, school tuition support, and home environment adaptations to promote dignity and independence. These efforts aim to create a more inclusive society through coordinated actions.

Sheikh Mansoor highlighted the importance of these meetings in reinforcing commitment to an integrated system that ensures full rights for People of Determination. He stated, "Meetings of the Higher Committee for the Protection of the Rights of People of Determination reaffirm our unwavering commitment to establishing an integrated system that guarantees the full rights of People of Determination and promotes their active participation in every sphere of life." This reflects leadership's vision for a just society.

During his visit to Al Jalila Children’s Development and Rehabilitation Center, Sheikh Mansoor examined rehabilitation, diagnostic, and treatment facilities. He instructed improvements in service quality and efficiency to better meet family and individual needs. His visit also included viewing handicrafts made by students from Sheikha Maitha bint Rashed Al Maktoum Center using Hatta stone.

The meeting also involved presentations from participating entities on healthcare, education, social inclusion, and infrastructure proposals. These were part of an integrated framework aimed at unifying efforts for real social impact. Sheikh Mansoor emphasised collaboration with various entities to develop policies ensuring high-quality services for People of Determination.

He visited the Emirates Down Syndrome Academy, an initiative by the Emirates Down Syndrome Association. The academy serves as a model for social and professional inclusion, enhancing contributions from People of Determination to both community and economy.

Unified Efforts for Social Justice

The meeting concluded with a focus on unifying institutional efforts and updating centralised databases. Expanding support for vulnerable groups aligns with Dubai’s vision for an inclusive society. This reflects leadership's aspirations to establish a global model for empowerment and social justice.

Attendees included Mattar Mohammed Al Tayer, Lt. General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Abdulla bin Zayed Al Falasi, Aisha Abdullah Miran, Dr. Alawi Sheikh Ali, Dr. Amer Ahmad Sharif, and Majid Abdullah Al Usaimi.
