Manchester City Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak Confident Of Team's Return To Top Form Next Season

Manchester City Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak is optimistic about the team's prospects for the next season. Despite a challenging 2024/25 campaign, he believes they will compete for top honours again. After a successful period, including a Treble in 2022/23 and four consecutive Premier League titles, City ended this season with only the Community Shield.

In an interview on the club's website, Al Mubarak acknowledged that City did not meet their usual standards this season. However, he expressed confidence in their ability to challenge for trophies next term. He revealed plans to make several new signings this summer to refresh Pep Guardiola’s squad before the FIFA Club World Cup starts on 14 June.

City Chairman Confident for Next Season

The Chairman attended City's final match of the season against Fulham, where they secured a 2-0 victory. After the game, he spoke with players and sensed their determination to return stronger after a brief break. "Everyone I saw after the Fulham game, all the players, they’re excited," he said.

Al Mubarak noted that players are eager to return to pre-season training rather than focusing on vacations. He mentioned conversations with players like Rodri and Erling Haaland, who are keen to prepare for next season. "Honestly, every player I spoke to was telling me, you know, we’re coming back," he added.

The Chairman emphasised learning from both successes and shortcomings of this season. "We will take all the good things and the not so good things from this season and learn from it," he stated. The club aims to improve and achieve high standards once more.

Al Mubarak highlighted ongoing efforts to plan for future success. He recently spoke with Ferran Soriano about transfer strategies alongside Txiki Begiristain, Pep Guardiola, and Hugo Viana. "Today is a new day," he remarked, stressing their commitment to preparing for next season without delay.

The Chairman's positive outlook stems from seeing players' hunger and readiness to return stronger. This attitude fuels his belief that Manchester City will regain their competitive edge in upcoming competitions.
