Make-A-Wish Foundation Surpasses Target By Fulfilling 830 Wishes For Children In 2024
The Make-A-Wish Foundation achieved a milestone in 2024 by fulfilling 830 wishes for children with critical illnesses, surpassing its target by 16%. This accomplishment highlights the Foundation's dedication to providing hope and joy to children and their families.
Sheikha Sheikha bint Saif bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, wife of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President, and Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of Make-A-Wish Foundation, expressed her thoughts on this achievement. "This year has been a testament to the extraordinary power of hope and the united spirit of our community. Every wish granted in 2024 was a beacon of joy and resilience, not only for the children and their families but for everyone involved in making these dreams come true."

In 2024, the Foundation expanded its efforts across three countries. In the UAE alone, 461 wishes were fulfilled, showcasing the nation's generosity and solidarity. The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan saw 160 wishes granted at the King Hussein Cancer Foundation and Center.
In Egypt, significant progress was made as well. The Magdi Yacoub Foundation for Heart Diseases and Research in Aswan witnessed 102 wishes being fulfilled. Additionally, Abu El-Rish Japanese Hospital in Cairo saw 107 wishes come true.
The total number of wishes granted in 2024 marked a notable increase from the previous year's 712 wishes. This growth underscores the Foundation’s commitment to expanding its positive impact each year.
"Surpassing our goal and achieving 830 wishes reflects the unwavering support from donors, volunteers, and the Foundation’s team," Sheikha Sheikha added. "Together, we have created moments of happiness that will remain etched in the hearts of these children."

Looking ahead to 2025, Sheikha Sheikha expressed optimism about reaching even greater milestones. "As we step into 2025, I look forward with pride and optimism to achieving even greater milestones together," she stated.
