Majra Reviews Progress On Social Responsibility Initiatives And Sustainable Impact Plans Across UAE

The National CSR Fund – Majra's Board of Trustees convened for its second 2025 meeting, led by Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism. Key topics included updates on Majra’s strategic performance indicators and preparations for November events, notably the Impact Summit on 27th November in Abu Dhabi. The meeting underscored the UAE's dedication to enhancing social responsibility and aligning private sector efforts with national priorities.

Abdulla bin Touq emphasised the importance of community empowerment, partnerships, and innovation investment as pillars for sustainable social responsibility. He stated, "This meeting represents another step in reaffirming our commitment to strengthening the culture of social responsibility in the UAE and directing private sector efforts towards projects that deliver sustainable impact aligned with national priorities."

Majra Reviews Social Responsibility Progress in UAE

The Board approved a strategic partnership with Emirates Nature–WWF to empower Emirati youth in environmental sustainability. This collaboration reflects Majra’s dedication to embedding social responsibility through knowledge and empowerment. Under this partnership, Majra will sponsor 500 youth memberships in the Leaders of Change programme, promoting youth participation in environmental protection.

Sarah Shaw, CEO of the National CSR Fund – Majra, highlighted the Knowledge Empowerment Initiative. This initiative focuses on using knowledge to enhance human development and awareness of sustainable impact. It aims to improve quality of life through informed decision-making, skill enhancement, continuous education, innovation, and collaboration across sectors.

The Board reviewed preparations for the inaugural Impact Summit and Impact Majlis on 27–28 November 2025 in Abu Dhabi. These events will gather leaders under the theme "Empowering Collective Good for the Nation." The Summit aims to align private sector initiatives with national goals through innovative partnerships.

In Fujairah, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Majra and Fujairah Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This agreement launched the Community Entrepreneurs Programme to support fourth-sector enterprises and social startups. The initiative seeks to foster social innovation and create new economic opportunities.

Committees Driving Sustainable Impact

The Board discussed ongoing efforts by UAE’s CSR and Sustainability Committees led by Chambers of Commerce across Emirates. These committees implement innovative initiatives addressing each Emirate’s unique priorities while promoting nationwide integration for sustainable impact.

Specialized committees like the Sustainable Impact Committee, chaired by Abdulla Ahmed Al Saleh, focus on developing frameworks for evaluating CSR performance. The Strategies and Projects Committee, led by Mubarak Al Nakhi, advances integrated strategies aligning with UAE’s vision for social responsibility under Majra's umbrella.

The meeting also addressed challenges related to sustainable impact projects. Solutions were explored to ensure continued progress through these specialized committees. Their goal is to advance national strategies that align with UAE’s vision for social responsibility, sustainability, and innovation.
