Ma'an Allocates AED 91 Million To Enhance Abu Dhabi's Social Sectors In 2023
The Authority of Social Contribution (Ma’an), the official channel for social contributions under the Abu Dhabi Government, has published its 2023 contribution allocation report. The report underscores the diverse social projects supported over the past year. In 2023, Ma’an initiated 57 projects across various sectors, including social, health, environment and infrastructure, and education.
Ma’an collaborated with several partners such as the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT), Abu Dhabi City Municipality, Family Care Authority, and Al Noor Centre. Dr. Mughir Al Khaili, Chairman of the Department of Community Development, remarked on the focus on individuals as the nation's true wealth. He celebrated the impact achieved through social contributions received by Ma’an.

In 2023, Ma’an directed a total of AED 91 million towards projects addressing social priorities. This funding aimed to enhance the quality of life for community members in Abu Dhabi. Salama Al Ameemi, Director-General of Ma’an, emphasized the commitment to nurturing partnerships to develop sustainable solutions with long-lasting effects on the community.
Sector-wise Distribution
AED 91 million was allocated across several sectors, benefiting 161,059 people. The social sector received AED 41.1 million through 28 projects. This funding supports initiatives that address social priorities and promote well-being, aiming to create a more inclusive society.
The health sector was allocated AED 28.05 million for 12 projects focused on social healthcare services. This investment underscores the importance of accessible healthcare for all community members.
The education sector received AED 9.3 million across 10 projects. This allocation highlights a commitment to providing quality education and enhancing opportunities for students from low-income families.
Lastly, AED 12.7 million was allocated to the environment and infrastructure sector to support seven projects aimed at sustainable development and improving infrastructure.
