LuLu Group Celebrates 30th Store Opening In Oman, Boosts Local Economy
In a significant move to broaden its footprint in the Sultan of Oman, LuLu Group has launched its 30th store in the country, marking a new chapter in its expansion narrative. The opening ceremony of the new retail in Al Ansab was presided over by H.E. Shaikh Faisal Abdullah Al-Rawas, Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce & Industry, with notable attendees including H.E Amit Narang, Indian Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, Brig. Jamal Saeed Al-Taie, Director General of Financial Affairs, Royal Oman Police, and Yusuff Ali M.A., Chairman of LuLu Group, among other distinguished guests.
During the inauguration, H.E. Shaikh Faisal Abdullah Al-Rawas highlighted Oman's dedication to fostering an investor-friendly environment, pointing out the government's proactive approach to welcome and support large-scale investments like LuLu Group's ventures. The event also saw Yusuff Ali M.A. receiving a copy of the Al Ghorfa Magazine from His Excellency, underscoring the significance of this launch.
The new LuLu Hypermarket in Al Ansab spans 150,000 square feet and promises an enhanced shopping experience with a focus on healthy and diet food options, an extensive range of 'Free From' foods, seafood including freshly made sushi, premium meats, and a vast selection of imported products. Additionally, it offers a broad spectrum of fresh fruits and vegetables, freshly squeezed juices, baked goods, fashion, beauty products, electronics, home appliances, and more.
LuLu Al Ansab also features a mix of brands, banks, money exchanges, coffee shops, restaurants, a fitness center, and entertainment options like Funtazmo Children's Amusement center, enriching the retail and leisure landscape of the neighborhood.
Yusuff Ali M.A. expressed his gratitude towards the Royal Oman Police and the Government of Oman for their trust in LuLu Group, emphasizing the Group's commitment to providing world-class shopping experiences and catering to the lifestyle needs of their customers, including those in suburban and outskirt areas. He also highlighted the Group's focus on promoting local employment, noting that LuLu currently employs over 3,000 Omani nationals, nearly half of whom are women, and has provided part-time job opportunities for an additional 300 locals.
Looking ahead, Yusuff Ali M.A. announced plans for the opening of four new hypermarkets in the next two years and the establishment of a state-of-the-art facility for fruits and vegetables in Khazaen Economic City by the following year, further contributing to local employment and economic development.
The LuLu Group's expansion in Oman aligns with the Sultanate's development strategies under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, focusing on economic diversification, industrialisation, and privatisation. LuLu Group reaffirms its commitment to supporting Oman's sustainable development goals, highlighting the company's role in the nation's growing economy.
The event also saw participation from Ashraf Ali M.A, LuLu Executive Director, Ananth A.V., LuLu Oman Director, Shabeer K.A., LuLu Oman Regional Director, and other key officials, marking a milestone in LuLu Group's continued growth and investment in Oman's retail sector.
