Louis Vuitton Joins Dubai's One Freezone Passport Initiative As First Corporate Member

Dubai has achieved a significant milestone with the launch of the One Freezone Passport initiative by the Dubai Free Zones Council (DFZC). This programme simplifies the process for businesses to operate across multiple free zones in Dubai using a single licence. It reflects Dubai's dedication to creating a flexible and welcoming environment for investors, which is a core aim of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.

The initiative's efficiency was recently showcased when Louis Vuitton, a leading global luxury brand, utilized it to streamline its business expansion in Dubai. By connecting its corporate office in One Za'abeel, part of the Dubai World Trade Centre Free Zone (DWTC Free Zone), with its warehouse operations in Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA), Louis Vuitton demonstrated the practical benefits of the One Freezone Passport.

"By enabling businesses to expand seamlessly across our world-class free zones, we are reinforcing Dubai's reputation as a premier investment destination. The swift and successful onboarding of Louis Vuitton through this program exemplifies the efficiency and attractiveness of Dubai's regulatory framework for international businesses," said Dr. Juma Al Matrooshi, Assistant Secretary General at Dubai Free Zones Council.

The process for expanding free zone licences through this programme is remarkably efficient, taking only five days to complete. This rapid facilitation aligns perfectly with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33's goal to establish Dubai as a top choice for global business expansion and setup.

"The successful onboarding of Louis Vuitton, one of the world's most prestigious luxury brands, through the citywide One Freezone Passport initiative demonstrates both the calibre of businesses Dubai continues to attract and our commitment to fostering an efficient business environment," stated Abdalla Al Banna, Vice-President of Free Zone Regulatory Operations at DWTC.

Amna Al Ali, Vice-President of Licensing and Registration at Jebel Ali Free Zones, further elaborated on the significance of the One Freezone Passport initiative. She highlighted its role in simplifying operations for companies across Dubai's free zones without the need for additional licences. This approach is aligned with Dubai's strategy to streamline business processes and boost its competitive edge globally.

The Dubai World Trade Centre Authority (DWTCA) plays a pivotal role in enhancing Dubai's economic landscape. Its free zone is a vibrant hub for over 40 sectors, housing a mix of global corporations, SME innovators, and entrepreneurs. The DWTC Free Zone is dedicated to providing customised services within a regulated framework, driving business growth and innovation.
