Louis Vuitton Becomes First Corporate Member Of Dubai's One Freezone Passport Initiative

The Dubai Free Zones Council (DFZC) has announced the successful launch of the One Freezone Passport. This initiative simplifies business operations across Dubai’s free zones by allowing companies to operate in multiple zones with a single licence. This step aligns with the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, reinforcing Dubai's commitment to creating a flexible and investor-friendly business environment.

Dubai World Trade Centre Authority (DWTCA), which manages the Dubai World Trade Centre Free Zone (DWTC Free Zone), has embraced this initiative. The global luxury brand Louis Vuitton is the first company to benefit from this programme. It will maintain its warehouse in Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) while setting up its corporate office at One Za’abeel, part of DWTC Free Zone. This move highlights the programme’s effectiveness in facilitating business expansion within Dubai's economic zones.

Louis Vuitton Joins Dubai Freezone Initiative

The process for expanding free zone licences now takes just five days, showcasing Dubai's efficiency in business setup and operations. This achievement supports the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to establish Dubai as a leading global destination for business setup and growth.

Dr. Juma Al Matrooshi, Assistant Secretary General at DFZC, stated, "The One Freezone Passport is a transformative initiative that cements Dubai’s position as a global economic powerhouse. By enabling businesses to expand seamlessly across our world-class free zones, we are reinforcing Dubai’s reputation as a premier investment destination."

Abdalla Al Banna, Vice President of Free Zone Regulatory Operations at DWTC, commented on Louis Vuitton's onboarding through this initiative. He said it showcases both the calibre of businesses attracted to Dubai and their commitment to fostering an efficient business environment. The decision by Louis Vuitton to expand into DWTC Free Zone from JAFZA underscores international confidence in Dubai's business ecosystem.

Amna Al Ali, Vice President of Licensing and Registration at Jebel Ali Free Zones, highlighted that the One Freezone Passport represents a transformative approach to free zones operations in Dubai. The programme allows companies licensed at one free zone to utilise facilities in other zones without additional licensing requirements.

Enhancing Operational Efficiency

The successful expansion of Louis Vuitton reinforces DWTC Free Zone's role as a catalyst for business growth and innovation in Dubai. This initiative builds on Dubai's track record of implementing forward-thinking programmes that drive economic growth and strengthen its position as a global economic hub.

The DWTC Free Zone offers a competitive ecosystem within a regulated environment. It hosts global companies, SMEs innovators, and entrepreneurs across over 40 sectors. Located centrally in the city, it provides a dynamic and business-friendly environment with services tailored to meet diverse tenant needs.

This innovative framework supports Dubai's vision by allowing companies to expand their operational footprint through a streamlined process. It enhances the emirate's competitive advantage in the global business landscape while actively contributing to its vision of becoming the world's leading destination for international investment and business setup.
