Lootah Charity Foundation Pledges AED 15 Million To Mothers’ Education Endowment

In a significant move towards supporting global education, the Saeed Ahmed Lootah Charity Foundation has announced a generous contribution of AED15 million to the Mothers’ Endowment campaign. This initiative, spearheaded by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, aims to establish a AED 1 billion endowment fund. The primary goal is to honour mothers worldwide by facilitating the education of millions in underprivileged communities.

The pledged amount will be disbursed over three years, marking a community-wide effort to back the campaign's noble objectives. This initiative has garnered widespread support from various sectors, including individuals, businesses, and institutions, all united in their commitment to promoting education and solidarity.

Yahya Saeed Lootah, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees at the Saeed Ahmed Lootah Charity Foundation, expressed that the Mothers’ Endowment campaign is a pivotal moment in the UAE's humanitarian efforts. It underscores the nation's dedication to addressing the needs of underprivileged communities, with a particular focus on education. "Our contribution reflects our Board of Trustees' commitment to fostering community solidarity and supporting the UAE's and Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives' (MBRGI) humanitarian endeavors," he stated.

The campaign not only aims to provide sustainable educational support but also seeks to revive the tradition of endowments as a developmental tool. Launched under the MBRGI umbrella during the holy month of Ramadan, it encourages donations in honour of mothers, thereby promoting values such as respect for parents, kindness, compassion, and community solidarity.

The Mothers’ Endowment campaign offers multiple channels for donations, ensuring ease of access for those willing to contribute. Donors can make their contributions through the campaign’s official website (Mothersfund.ae), or by contacting a dedicated call center via toll-free number (800 9999). Bank transfers are accepted in UAE dirham at Emirates Islamic Bank (AE790340003708472909201). Additionally, contributions via SMS are facilitated for e& Etisalat users by sending "Mother" to specific numbers (1034, 1035, 1036, 1038). Other platforms include the DubaiNow app under the "Donations" tab and Jood (Jood.ae), Dubai’s community contributions platform.
