Longevity And Precision Medicine Drive Global Health Agenda At Abu Dhabi Event
The Department of Health - Abu Dhabi (DoH) is hosting a significant event to tackle the challenge of enhancing both lifespan and health span. Global leaders in health, research, policy, and technology will gather during Abu Dhabi Global Health Week (ADGHW) to discuss personalised healthcare solutions. This initiative aims to set new standards for international collaboration and innovation in next-generation medical technologies.
Abu Dhabi is making strides in healthcare through strategic investments and AI-driven advancements. The emirate's focus on AI-powered medical research is improving disease prediction and precision therapeutics. This effort solidifies its leadership in healthcare innovation by advancing research, fostering global partnerships, and ensuring equitable access to life-extending medical innovations.

The upcoming ADGHW will unveil a global initiative focused on longevity science and precision medicine. This initiative seeks to promote personalised healthcare approaches and extend healthy lifespans. As life expectancy has doubled to 71 years globally, the gap between health span and lifespan has widened to 9.6 years. Many people now spend nearly a decade in poor health due to chronic diseases.
Mansoor Ibrahim Al Mansoori, Chairman of DoH, emphasised the importance of collaboration: "We are delivering personalised and preventive health solutions that empower people to live longer, healthier, and more fulfilling lives. Because health knows no boundaries, we are inviting the world to co-create the next era of health, underpinned by collaboration, driven by data and transformative technology such as AI."
The initiative will introduce several key elements: a global consensus document on longevity and precision medicine; commitments from international stakeholders for AI-driven healthcare solutions; frameworks for integrating genomics-based approaches into mainstream practice; policy recommendations for longevity innovation; and strategies for ethical medical advancements.
Abu Dhabi's commitment to healthy longevity is evident through concrete actions like licensing the Institute for Healthier Living Abu Dhabi (IHLAD). This centre offers AI-enabled care to extend healthy lifespan, manage chronic diseases, and support mental well-being. The launch of the Healthy Longevity Innovation Forum further highlights this commitment.
Global Collaboration at ADGHW
ADGHW will take place from 15th to 17th April 2025, providing a platform for exchanging insights and addressing critical healthcare challenges. It aims to build partnerships that drive progress in global health. The event expects over 200 speakers, 15,000 visitors, 1,900 delegates, and 150 exhibitors from 90 countries.

Further details about this initiative will be announced at ADGHW. By bringing together diverse stakeholders worldwide, ADGHW aims to advance the future of health without borders.
