DCT Abu Dhabi Announces Dates For Liwa International Festival 2025 From December To January
The Liwa International Festival 2025, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is set to occur from 13th December 2024 to 4th January 2025 in Liwa, Al Dhafra. Organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) alongside several partners, this festival promises a diverse array of activities over 23 days.
This event positions Al Dhafra as a premier winter destination, attracting camping enthusiasts, adventure seekers, and fans of traditional sports. The festival will feature top professionals and competitors globally. Visitors can enjoy fireworks displays, live music, and various desert activities amidst Al Dhafra's stunning natural landscapes.

The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi will host desert arts and entertainment events during the festival. The Liwa Village will celebrate Emirati heritage through its offerings. Visitors can explore musical performances on the main stage, diverse dining options, a crafts market, creative workshops, family-friendly activities, and local vendors showcasing Emirati products.
Sporting events kick off on 13th December with a two-day car exhibition. Various competitions follow, culminating in the Hill Climbing Championship during the final three days. Traditional sports such as falconry, camel racing, horse racing, pigeon shooting, and archery will also be featured.
