Leonardo Advances Italy’s Heritage Through Amerigo Vespucci World Tour To Strengthen UAE Partnerships
Supporting the Amerigo Vespucci World Tour and Villaggio Italia, Leonardo, a notable industry leader in Aerospace, Defence, and Security, is making significant strides in promoting Italy's technological and cultural heritage at the global level.
From December 27 to 31, the Italian Navy's training ship, famously dubbed "the most beautiful ship in the world," will be showcased at Zayed Port, Abu Dhabi. Leonardo's involvement highlights its extensive portfolio, with technologies implemented on more than a thousand naval vessels worldwide, including 45 units of the UAE Navy, showcasing its prominence in the naval sector.

Leonardo's commitment to cybersecurity is evident in its comprehensive solutions designed to protect digital infrastructures from cyber threats. The company focuses on cyber intelligence, threat monitoring, and responsive capabilities, starting from the design phase. This approach ensures the security of IT and physical infrastructures, vital communication systems, and mobility services, which are crucial for the economic and cultural progress of nations.
In the space sector, Leonardo stands out for its end-to-end management capabilities, from satellite manufacturing and orbital infrastructures to high-tech equipment and sensors, as well as satellite services, propulsion, and launch systems. Fabio Frenguelli, Leonardo's General Manager in the UAE, underscored the depth of the company's collaborations with Emirati institutions, spanning nearly five decades. "The naval partnership is just one of the significant collaborations that Leonardo has fostered with the Emirati institutions over nearly fifty years," he remarked.
These partnerships cover both civil and defence sectors, with more than 100 Leonardo helicopters engaged in a variety of critical missions across the UAE, from institutional transport to emergency medical services. Furthermore, Leonardo has established a major logistic center for helicopter maintenance in partnership with Abu Dhabi Aviation, aiming to enhance strategic ties and broaden cooperation in new technological and industrial areas.
The Amerigo Vespucci World Tour, alongside Villaggio Italia, serves as a platform to showcase Italy's industrial and cultural excellence across major global ports. These events highlight critical sectors like high technology applied to defence and security, underpinning sustainable development and the freedom of communities worldwide.
