Latifa Bint Mohammed Visits GITEX Global 2024 To Emphasise International Tech Collaborations

H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, emphasised the significant role of GITEX Global in fostering international tech collaborations. During her visit to the event on Wednesday, she noted its impact as a catalyst for global partnerships. The exhibition is held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 14-18 October.

GITEX Global has set new records for international participation in its 44th year. It is recognised as the largest and top-rated tech event globally. This year, it features over 6,500 exhibitors, 1,800 startups, and 1,200 investors from more than 180 countries. The upcoming GITEX Global 2024 is anticipated to be the largest international edition yet.

Sheikha Latifa underscored the importance of cross-border collaboration amid rapid digital transformation. She stated that "constructive and mutually beneficial collaboration and cooperation that transcends geographic boundaries is imperative." With leading minds and innovative enterprises working together, humanity can achieve unprecedented progress.

During her visit, Sheikha Latifa highlighted GITEX Global's status as one of the UAE’s most iconic international events. She remarked on the engagement and camaraderie witnessed firsthand at the event. "There can no doubt that GITEX Global will play a starring role in the global community’s technological transformation long into the future," she added.

The programme for GITEX Global 2024 includes five daily themes. Sheikha Latifa's visit coincided with ‘Cybersecurity Day,’ where experts discussed current challenges and opportunities in cybersecurity. Her Highness engaged with exhibitors from various pavilions representing both UAE and international entities during her tour.

Accompanied by Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director-General of Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, Sheikha Latifa visited several stands showcasing innovative services. At the e& stand, she explored a 'smart home' service using AI to adapt to user needs by learning preferences and tracking health indicators.

Exploring AI Innovations

Sheikha Latifa also visited Huawei's booth to learn about their latest smart digital products aimed at enhancing digital transformation through AI capabilities. At H3C's booth, she was briefed on AI strategies designed to accelerate digital transformation efforts.

The Kaspersky stand showcased cybersecurity solutions focusing on digital immunity services. At Forcepoint's booth, officials highlighted AI-enabled offerings intended to mitigate cybersecurity risks effectively.

Future Events and Innovation

GITEX Global has successfully connected the global technology community with plans for future events in 2025. These include GITEX EUROPE Berlin, GITEX ASIA Singapore, GITEX AFRICA Morocco, and GITEX NIGERIA. These gatherings aim to foster collaboration and drive innovation across emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence.
