Latifa Bint Mohammed Joins Maye Musk At The 1 Billion Followers Summit To Discuss Parenting And Success
H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, attended a session at the 1 Billion Followers Summit. The session featured Maye Musk, a well-known dietitian and model, who is also the mother of Elon Musk. During this event, Musk shared insights into her parenting journey and values that shaped her children's success.
The summit, organised by the UAE Government Media Office, took place from 11th to 13th January 2025. It was held at prestigious venues like Dubai’s Emirates Towers and the Museum of the Future. The event gathered over 15,000 content creators and influencers along with more than 420 speakers and global experts.

During the session titled ‘How I Raised Three Amazing Children, Including the Richest Man in the World’, Musk discussed raising her children Kimbal, Elon, and Toska. She emphasised that they learned hard work early on as they had to apply for loans for their university studies. "Taking on those loans to study what they loved was their choice," she stated.
Musk shared how her children supported her after her divorce when she had to quickly establish her practice. "My kids put up with everything and they helped me a lot," she said. Elon served as her tech expert while Kimbal cooked for them, and Toska handled phone calls or typed reports.
Reflecting on social media's impact on medical professionals, Maye Musk noted its importance in promoting businesses. "I used to give lectures around the world to medical professionals about how to promote their own businesses because they’re very shy," she explained.
When asked about advice for content creators, Musk encouraged them to showcase their work. "Get out there and show people what you do," she advised. If one dislikes their current work, she suggested making a change and then sharing it with others.
Elon Musk's Vision
Musk also touched upon Elon’s vision for X, stating he aimed to make it more transparent. She mentioned his approach was always about doing good rather than challenging others. "Elon doesn’t do things to challenge anyone; he does them to do good," she said.
She highlighted Elon's projects like Zip2 door-to-door directions and satellite initiatives aimed at helping people in remote areas. These ventures were driven by his desire to contribute positively rather than financial gain.
The session was hosted by Alia AlHammadi, Vice Chairperson of the UAE Government Media Office and CEO of the summit. Notable attendees included Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs; Maryam AlHammadi, Minister of State; and Saeed Al Eter, Chairman of the UAE Government Media Office.
Musk concluded by reflecting on a common trait among her children: their focus on doing good rather than making money. "They never wanted to make money," she stated. Their aim was always excellence in their pursuits rather than financial success.
