Dr. Hany Torky from UNDP highlighted updates to this year’s Global Knowledge Index (GKI). He explained that improvements have been made to enhance accuracy and cross-country comparisons by refining indicators and adding new criteria sets. These updates aim to assess sectors like education, research and development, and ESG more effectively.

The Summit agenda promises an immersive experience through specialised halls reflecting diverse themes. Saif Al Mansouri, Head of Knowledge Summit Committee, noted that the ‘Main Hall’ will be central for global discussions. The ‘Sustainable Communities’ Hall will focus on how knowledge transforms society, while the ‘Global Knowledge Index’ Hall will provide insights into national performances in education and innovation.

An impressive lineup of 130 speakers will engage in over 45 panel discussions during the Summit. These sessions will bring together government officials, international experts, and leaders from business and development sectors. Topics such as AI, blockchain, big data, legislation, societal transformation, intellectual property rights, education, scientific research, development, and innovation will be explored.

The recent meeting also reviewed achievements of initiatives like the Digital Knowledge Hub. The 'Knowledge Break' initiative was highlighted for hosting collaborative sessions in countries like Australia and Canada this year.

Youth Empowerment Initiatives

The Dubai International Program for Writing was recognised for its contributions to youth empowerment. This program conducted workshops focusing on creative writing, translation, and screenwriting. Such efforts underscore the commitment to nurturing young talent through specialised training.

The Summit underscores investing in ideas as vital for community growth. It aims to position Dubai as a leader in transforming knowledge into sustainable economic value while showcasing UAE's innovative approach to a knowledge-driven economy.
