Khorfakkan Mango Festival Concludes Successfully With Record Attendance And Sales

The fourth Mango Festival wrapped up successfully at Expo Khorfakkan, marking a significant milestone. Organised by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) with the Municipal Council of Khorfakkan and Khorfakkan City Municipality, the event spanned three days from June 27 to 29. The festival, themed "Mango: Our Fruit, Our Wealth," saw a remarkable turnout.

Over 20,000 visitors attended this year's edition, doubling last year's attendance. The festival generated more than AED1 million in sales. More than 40 local farmers participated alongside several agriculture and fertilisation companies. Delegations from Saudi Arabia, Oman, Pakistan, and Uganda underscored the event's growing international appeal.

Khorfakkan Mango Festival Ends on High Note

The festival featured over 150 premium mango varieties, offering visitors a chance to explore Khorfakkan’s agricultural outputs. It also attracted productive families and exhibitors from various regions. This diverse participation provided an excellent platform for networking and exchanging knowledge on best practices in mango farming and agribusiness innovation.

Khalil Mohammed Al-Mansouri, Director of Expo Khorfakkan, highlighted the festival's significance as one of the UAE’s premier agricultural events. He noted its role in raising awareness about agriculture's importance for sustainable development, food security, and preserving cultural heritage for future generations.

Delegates from Saudi Arabia, Oman, Pakistan, and Uganda emphasised the festival's value in facilitating knowledge exchange among mango farmers. It served as a platform to explore diverse experiences in cultivating mango trees across different environments. Methods for improving yield and using mangoes in various food industries were also discussed.

Mohammed Al Darmaki, Head of the Coordination and Follow-Up Committee of the Mango Festival, stated that the committee worked diligently to implement comprehensive operational plans. Efforts were made to streamline participation for farmers and home-based producers while enhancing visitor experiences.

The Mango Festival has solidified its status as a key event in promoting agricultural awareness within the UAE. Its success reflects a commitment to fostering community engagement around sustainable agricultural practices and cultural preservation.
