Khalifa University To Host NANO 2024 Conference On Advancements In Nanostructured Materials

Khalifa University of Science and Technology has announced it will host NANO 2024, the 17th International Conference on Nanostructured Materials. This marks the first time the event will take place in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The conference, organised with the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism, aims to showcase advancements in nanostructured materials and foster networking among global researchers.

The NANO 2024 conference is scheduled from 3-8 November 2024 in Abu Dhabi. It is a leading biennial international event for researchers from academia, industry, and government sectors. Participants will discuss developments in nanostructured materials, nanomechanics, AI in nanotechnology, and nanofluids. The conference will feature plenary talks by world-renowned experts, including a Nobel Physics committee member.

Key topics at the conference will include Additively Manufactured Nanomaterials, Nanocomposites and Nano-mechanics, Nanomaterials for Electronics, Sensors and Flexible Electronics. Other areas are Nanomaterials for Water and Energy, Catalysis, Environmental Applications, Nano-biomaterials, Nano-bionic & Biomedical Applications. Advanced Nano characterization and Magnetic Nanomaterials will also be covered.

The event will also explore Nanomaterials for Photonics and Optoelectronics, Carbon Nanomaterials, and 2D Materials. These focus areas aim to provide insights into current trends and future directions in nanotechnology applications across various fields.

More than 500 papers have been submitted to the selection committee for consideration. Nearly 59% of these papers originate from the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region. The submissions involve over 1,200 authors with significant contributions from UAE (533), India (222), Saudi Arabia (74), Italy (59), Qatar (39), and Japan (30).

Dr. Daniel Choi, Local Chair of NANO 2024, expressed excitement about hosting the event in the UAE. He stated that Khalifa University is thrilled to collaborate with various stakeholders to bring this prestigious conference to the MENA region for the first time.
