Khaled Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Engages With Microsoft On Strategic Partnerships In AI And Clean Energy
H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, recently engaged in discussions with Brad Smith, Vice Chair and President of Microsoft. Their meeting took place at the Abu Dhabi Energy Centre and focused on exploring strategic partnerships in AI, energy, and climate sectors. This discussion occurred alongside the ENACT Majlis event, which gathered over 80 leaders from global energy, technology, and investment sectors.
The dialogue emphasised ongoing collaborations between ADNOC, Masdar, G42, and Microsoft. These partnerships aim to harness advanced AI technologies to address rapid global changes and drive transformation in the energy sector. A key focus is on using low-carbon energy solutions to support essential infrastructure within the AI ecosystem.
The meeting also explored how Microsoft's expertise in advanced technology can support the UAE's clean energy transition goals. The focus was on fostering growth in the AI ecosystem across various industries. This aligns with efforts to power Microsoft's data centres with renewable energy, reflecting a commitment to sustainability and carbon reduction.

A joint report titled "Powering Possible: AI and Energy for a Sustainable Future" was released on 31st October 2024 by ADNOC, Masdar, and Microsoft. The report examines AI’s role in optimising energy efficiency, managing complex systems, reducing emissions, and supporting a net-zero future while addressing growing energy demands.
This collaboration reflects a shared vision for advancing clean energy sources. It underscores their commitment to contributing to the UAE's leadership in green technology and sustainable solutions.
