Khaled Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Participates In World Utilities Congress 2025 To Promote Sustainability And Innovation

H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, attended the 4th World Utilities Congress. This event was hosted by Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA) at the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi from 27th to 29th May 2025. The congress aimed to address key challenges in the utilities sector.

During his visit, H.H. Sheikh Khaled explored various stands representing national entities and companies such as the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy, TAQA, Enercap – a subsidiary of Apex Investment PSC, and Elsewedy Electric. He examined recent innovations in water, electricity, and utilities management sectors, focusing on sustainability practices promoted by national stakeholders.

The three-day congress gathered global decision-makers and experts to discuss high-level topics. It showcased pioneering technological solutions and strategic initiatives that are propelling progress in the power and water utilities sectors. The event highlighted efforts to enhance innovation while promoting sustainable practices amid rising global energy and water demands.

This year's edition attracted over 18,000 attendees, including 1,400 delegates and more than 500 thought leaders worldwide. The congress emphasized digital transformation, artificial intelligence, resilient smart-grid systems, and sustainable funding for renewable energy projects like wind and solar power.

H.H. Sheikh Khaled was joined by several prominent figures during his visit. These included Mohammed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport; Dr. Abdulla Humaid Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy; Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council; Jasim Husain Thabet, Group CEO and Managing Director of TAQA; and Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNEC.

The congress focused on practical solutions for challenges facing the utilities sector through digital transformation and renewable energy sources. It aimed to create future-ready solutions by leveraging technologies like artificial intelligence to build resilient smart-grid systems.

The event underscored the importance of sustainable funding for projects powered by renewable energy sources to drive progress in utilities management. This approach aligns with global efforts to meet increasing demands for energy and water resources sustainably.
