Khaled Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Highlights Climate Action At ADSW Summit 2025 Dialogue Sessions
H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, participated in the ADSW Summit 2025 at the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi. He welcomed esteemed guests, including heads of state and senior officials, emphasising the significance of discussions and events in promoting innovative solutions for global sustainability and climate action.
H.H. Sheikh Khaled highlighted the UAE's dedication to accelerating clean energy transitions through innovative strategies. These plans focus on empowering youth, integrating smart solutions, and using advanced technologies to promote sustainability locally and globally. He stressed the importance of collaboration among governments, environmental organisations, and private sector leaders to achieve shared climate goals.
The session opened with Dr Abdulla Humaid Al Jarwan's address titled "Shaping Water's Future: Abu Dhabi's Progressive Actions for a Sustainable Nexus." He discussed global agricultural water consumption, which uses nearly 70% of freshwater resources. The UAE's innovative techniques aim to enhance resilience and efficiency in freshwater management.
William Ruto, President of Kenya, delivered a keynote titled "Building Africa's Green Future: Kenya's Journey to Net Zero." Bola Tinubu, President of Nigeria, spoke on "From Climate Imperatives to Economic Prosperity: Bringing Africa Into the Future of Global Energy." Yoweri Museveni, President of Uganda, addressed "Uganda's Green Transformation: Leading Uganda's Journey."
Additional addresses included Wavel Ramkalawan, President of Seychelles, discussing "Harnessing Blue Economy & Marine Conservation for Sustainable Energy Transition." Giorgia Meloni, Prime Minister of Italy, presented "Reimagining Energy Security Through Cross-Continental Connections." Edi Rama, Prime Minister of Albania, shared insights on "Albania's Green Energy Revolution: A Vision of Regional Leadership in Renewable Energy."
The theme for Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2025 is 'The Nexus of Next. Supercharging Sustainable Progress.' It runs until January 18th at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi. The event gathers heads of state, decision-makers, entrepreneurs, and civil society representatives to exchange ideas and explore ways to accelerate a sustainable global economy.
