Middle East Iron And Steel Industry Leaders To Gather In Dubai For Key Conference

Over 1,000 industry experts from more than 50 nations will gather in Dubai for the Fastmarkets' Middle East Iron and Steel 2024 conference. Scheduled from 18th to 20th November, this event will explore the changing role of steel in the region's transformation, driven by large-scale projects reshaping infrastructure and economies.

The Middle East is focusing on energy transition and economic diversification, highlighting the importance of manufacturing industries like steel. This sector is vital for achieving future regional goals. The conference at Madinat Conference Centre promises a comprehensive agenda led by experts, examining market trends, legislative changes, and technological advancements both locally and globally.

Iron and Steel Leaders Converge in Dubai

Omar Ahmed Suwaina Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT), will initiate the event. He will discuss the region's industrial vision and sustainable manufacturing pathways. Keynote speeches and panel discussions will feature notable figures such as Saeed Alghafri from Emirates Steel, Rewant Ruia of Essar Group, Ravi Singh from SULB Company, Hassan El Marakby of El Marakby Steel, Ahmed Al Musawa Al Hashemi from Hafeet Rail, among others.

Raju Daswani, CEO of Fastmarkets, emphasised the UAE's pivotal role as a global hub for green steel and sustainability within the industry. Reflecting on the theme "Transform Tomorrow Together," he highlighted the region's dedication to sustainable practices and its potential to lead in green steel innovation.

The event will host over 460 companies, more than 100 speakers, and over 50 exhibitors. Attendees can expect crucial market insights, strategies for resilient supply chains, and updates on sustainable steel initiatives. Saeed Alghafri stated that Emirates Steel is committed to sustainable practices and operational excellence to support growth in regional and global markets.

SULB CEO Ravi Singh noted that the conference provides an opportunity to engage with industry leaders.
