Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev Awards APC President Majid Al-Usaimi With Order Of Friendship

Majid Al-Usaimi, President of the Asian Paralympic Committee (APC), has been honoured with the "Order of Friendship" by Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kazakhstan. This award acknowledges Al-Usaimi's significant contributions to the Paralympic Movement in Asia and highlights the United Arab Emirates' role in empowering people with disabilities over the last ten years.

The award ceremony took place at the Akorda Presidential Palace in Astana, attended by senior officials and dignitaries. Discussions during this event focused on the initiatives led by the Asian Paralympic Committee, Kazakhstan's athletes' participation in international competitions, and the country's successful hosting of major Para sport events.

Both parties acknowledged the impressive progress made by Kazakhstan's Paralympic Movement. They noted its alignment with broader development goals across Asia. President Tokayev praised APC’s growing influence and commended Al-Usaimi for his leadership in advancing the Paralympic Movement throughout Asia.

President Tokayev emphasized Kazakhstan’s dedication as a committed partner in realising a more inclusive future for the Paralympics. He highlighted how Kazakhstan is contributing significantly to this vision. The country has positioned itself as a key player in promoting the growth of the Paralympic Movement within Asia.

Al-Usaimi expressed his gratitude for this prestigious honour from President Tokayev. He stated: "This prestigious honour from President Tokayev is not only a personal recognition but also a testament to the UAE’s pioneering leadership in empowering people of determination. It reinforces our collective commitment to sustainable development and to advancing the Paralympic Movement both in Asia and globally."

UAE's Role and Achievements

Al-Usaimi also praised Kazakhstan's efforts and congratulated them on successfully hosting the 8th APC Conference and General Assembly in Astana. This event is considered one of the continent's important forums. He further acknowledged Kazakhstan’s efforts to establish itself as a significant contributor to developing the Paralympic Movement across Asia.
