Kalimat Foundation Donates AED 135,000 To Support Children In Gaza Through Cultural Campaign
Kalimat Foundation (KF), a UAE-based non-profit, has contributed AED 135,000 to the Emirates Red Crescent’s "Tarahum – for Gaza" appeal. This donation was generated through sales of a heritage-inspired merchandise collection called "Stitching Hope for Gaza." The initiative aimed to unite people in supporting Gaza's residents. The funds were officially presented at the Emirates Red Crescent branch in Sharjah, highlighting KF's dedication to aiding those in need through creativity and collective efforts.
The "Stitching Hope for Gaza" campaign was a heartfelt blend of cultural expression and humanitarian action. It was launched to show solidarity with Gaza's people, especially children affected by ongoing conflict. The merchandise line celebrated Palestinian culture, featuring the keffiyeh pattern and traditional embroidery (Tatreez). This collection included stylish t-shirts, handbags, wallets, scarves, and stationery items like notebooks and pins.

Amna Al Mazmi, Director of Kalimat Foundation, highlighted the campaign’s purpose: "The overwhelming response to ‘Stitching Hope for Gaza’ has been deeply moving. This campaign was created through a desire to offer urgent support and express unwavering solidarity with the children of Gaza during unimaginably difficult times. By weaving the rich tapestry of Palestinian heritage into products that people could embrace, we created a powerful channel for compassion. We extend our deepest gratitude to every individual who purchased an item, and to our incredible partners who helped share this message of hope so widely. This is solidarity in action."
The collection received significant public support with over 2,000 items sold during the campaign. Each purchase symbolised compassion, with all proceeds going directly to aid children affected by the conflict through Emirates Red Crescent. The initiative demonstrated how cultural engagement can drive humanitarian impact.
The funds raised from "Stitching Hope for Gaza" underscore Kalimat Foundation's commitment to using culture and community involvement for humanitarian purposes. KF remains focused on empowering vulnerable children by providing access to books and knowledge. The foundation continues its mission to offer hope and essential support to children worldwide who are in need.
This effort not only provided financial assistance but also fostered a sense of unity among supporters. By purchasing these culturally significant items, individuals contributed directly to critical aid efforts while celebrating Palestinian heritage.
