Kalba Local Economic Event Initiative To Boost Regional Tourism And Production

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, through its Kalba Branch, is working with Kalba Municipality on a new community-focused economic event. The initiative is scheduled for the current year and is intended to stimulate local business activity, showcase Kalba’s growing tourism appeal, and give productive families and entrepreneurs stronger access to markets.

The planned initiative targets several groups, including entrepreneurs, small farmers and household producers, with the goal of supporting stable income sources and sustainable marketing channels. It is aligned with the directives of Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI, and supports wider economic development priorities across Sharjah’s Eastern Region.

Kalba Local Economic Event Initiative

The coordination meeting took place at Kalba Municipality’s headquarters and brought together senior officials from both entities. Attendees included Khalil Mohammed Al Mansouri, Director of Government Relations at SCCI’s Communication and Business Sector, Dr Ahmed Saeed Al Mazrouei, Director of Kalba Municipality, Ali Mohammed Al Kindi, Director of SCCI Kalba Branch, and Mohamed Ahmed Al Darmaki from SCCI Khorfakkan.

Discussions covered the organisational framework of the Kalba economic event and tourism destination initiative, such as potential venues and their capacity, infrastructure readiness, and ease of access for visitors. Participants also examined preferred dates that would match the emirate’s annual events calendar, and reviewed regulatory, technical and logistical requirements needed for smooth and repeatable execution.

Khalil Mohammed Al Mansouri explained that the coordination reflects the Sharjah Chamber’s continuous efforts to activate economic activity in the Eastern Region and reinforce the private sector’s role in local development. Al Mansouri highlighted the Chamber’s focus on strategic partnerships with government entities to create a supportive business environment for entrepreneurs and productive households.

Al Mansouri noted that the Kalba economic event and tourism destination initiative is viewed as a key platform to spotlight Kalba’s emerging economic sectors and tourism sites. The Sharjah Chamber confirmed readiness to provide comprehensive logistical and operational backing, enabling measurable outcomes for participants and supporting sustainable community development through better access to consumers.

For Kalba Municipality, Dr Ahmed Saeed Al Mazrouei stressed full support for the partnership with the Sharjah Chamber and affirmed the municipality’s commitment to provide all required operational and logistical facilitation. Dr Al Mazrouei stated that sustained infrastructure investment and coordination between government entities have positioned Kalba as a distinguished tourism and economic destination, aiming to attract visitors from across the UAE and abroad while generating lasting economic value.

The meeting closed with both sides underlining the strategic importance of the forthcoming Kalba economic event and tourism destination project in presenting Kalba’s economic and social capabilities. The parties agreed to maintain close coordination to deliver the event within the current year, stimulate local economic activity by empowering productive families and entrepreneurs, and strengthen Kalba’s competitiveness as a tourism and economic hub in the Eastern Region.
