Jewels of Emirates Show 2026 opens in Sharjah

Sheikh Khaled bin Abdullah bin Sultan Al Qasimi stated that the Jewels of Emirates Show reflects Sharjah’s growing stature as a leading regional hub for gold and jewellery manufacturing and trade. He explained that specialised events of this scale help bring major international brands to the emirate and expand opportunities for Emirati talent across regional and global markets.

He noted that the exhibition highlights Sharjah’s success in fostering a supportive environment that promotes innovation, entrepreneurship, and the preservation of the UAE’s authentic cultural identity. According to Sheikh Khaled bin Abdullah bin Sultan Al Qasimi, this mix of economic activity and cultural preservation strengthens the emirate’s competitive position in jewellery and related creative industries.

Following the opening ceremony, Sheikh Khaled bin Abdullah Al Qasimi toured the exhibition halls and reviewed new gold and diamond sets, along with contemporary jewellery lines. During the visit, Sheikh Khaled bin Abdullah Al Qasimi met several Emirati exhibitors and designers at the "Emirati Goldsmiths" Platform and was briefed on collections that combine modern design with traditional Emirati craftsmanship.

The exhibition features strong participation from Emirati jewellery designers, supported through a dedicated pavilion linked to the "Emirati Goldsmiths" Platform. This space displays gold artefacts and luxury jewellery pieces that showcase technical skills and design capabilities. It also helps Emirati designers build visibility with visiting buyers, investors, and retailers from regional and international markets.

Jewels of Emirates Show, Sharjah Pearls Exhibition, and heritage focus

The Jewels of Emirates Show 2026 is also hosting the second edition of the Sharjah Pearls Exhibition, organised in collaboration with SCCI and Suwaidi Pearls, and in strategic partnership with the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). The event aims to revive interest in the UAE’s maritime heritage while also supporting commercially viable activity in natural pearls and gemstones.

During the tour, Sheikh Khaled bin Abdullah Al Qasimi visited the Sharjah Pearls Exhibition pavilion, where he learned about its heritage and cultural programmes. The pavilion highlights the UAE’s history in pearl diving and trade, and displays rare natural pearls from Sharjah, together with jewellery collections created from high-quality Emirati pearls for both collectors and contemporary buyers.

Abdallah Sultan Al Owais said the Jewels of Emirates Show serves as a comprehensive strategic platform that strengthens Sharjah’s position as a regional hub for the gold and jewellery industry and trade. He stressed that SCCI places strong emphasis on supporting high-impact initiatives associated with the exhibition, including the "Emirati Goldsmiths" Platform, which acts as an incubator for empowering Emirati designers, showcasing their creativity, and connecting them with local and global markets.

He also noted that the Sharjah Pearls Exhibition is a key attraction, reflecting the Chamber’s commitment to preserving the UAE’s maritime heritage and supporting the sustainable growth of the natural pearls and gemstones sector. Alongside commercial activity, heritage-style majlis settings, cultural evenings, and specialised workshops give the exhibition an educational and community dimension for visitors.

Meanwhile, Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah, said the UAE is leading global growth in the jewellery sector, driven by increasing interest from auction houses and luxury brands. He explained that this growth is supported by a strong culture of gemstone appreciation and a young generation seeking unique and innovative designs. He added that the Jewels of Emirates Show plays a key role in reinforcing Expo Centre Sharjah’s ongoing efforts to support the local gold and jewellery industry.

This year’s Jewels of Emirates Show marks the first launch of the "Luxury Pavilion", an exclusive zone dedicated to premium jewellery brands and bespoke designs. Featuring leading luxury houses, the pavilion gives investors and collectors access to high-value pieces. Alongside this, the wider exhibition programme includes specialised goldsmithing workshops, interactive competitions, and prizes that link heritage, learning, and entertainment.

During the inauguration tour of the Jewels of Emirates Show, Sheikh Khaled bin Abdullah bin Sultan Al Qasimi was accompanied by Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI and Chairman of Expo Centre Sharjah; Waleed Abdelrahman BuKhatir, Second Vice Chairman of SCCI; several SCCI board members; Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, Director-General of SCCI; and Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of the Hamriyah Free Zone Authority and the Sharjah Airport International Free Zone, together with representatives from government bodies and participating companies.
