The inaugural meeting of the Jawaher Boston Medical District Board took place at BEEAH Headquarters, attended by H.H. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi. The project, a collaboration between BEEAH and Boston's Mass General Brigham and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, aims to develop an innovative healthcare system in Sharjah. U.S. Ambassador to the UAE, Martina Strong, was present to discuss the project's progress and partnerships.

The Board of Directors includes Khaled Al Huraimel from BEEAH, Dr. Abdelaziz Saeed Obaid Bin Butti Almheiri of the Sharjah Health Authority, Dr. Manal Taryam from Noor Dubai Foundation, Naim Yazbeck of Microsoft UAE, Mohamed Al Marzooqi from HSBC UAE, Faizal Kottikollon of KEF Holdings, and Zouheir Sabra from BEEAH Capital. H.H. Sheikha Jawaher emphasised the project's significance for healthcare in Sharjah and beyond. Discussions included strategies to improve medical care access in the UAE through specialised acute care and innovations for cancer and chronic diseases. The Board also reviewed completed workshops and the appointment of an architect for the district.

Khaled Al Huraimel expressed enthusiasm about the board's formation and Ambassador Strong's visit, which highlighted mutual interests between BEEAH in the UAE and their Boston partners. He stated: "Today is a momentous day for the Jawaher Boston Medical District project... We look forward to exploring cutting-edge research and innovations that will help us bring the health system of the future to Sharjah."

Raymond W. Liu from Mass General Brigham noted that with the Board's establishment, the project is moving into strategic planning and design phases. He remarked: "With the establishment of the Board... we are honoured to bring our expertise to this collaboration with BEEAH... Together with BEEAH, we are committed to advancing patient outcomes."

The district was announced last May after approval by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi. It aims to create a world-class healthcare system integrating sustainability, technology, and quality of life solutions from BEEAH.

Following their meeting, board members engaged with U.S. Ambassador Strong on potential collaborative projects benefiting both nations. The discussions underscored shared goals in healthcare innovation between the United States and UAE.

As plans progress into design phases with renowned architects, this partnership seeks to enhance healthcare delivery through personalised tech-enabled care in Sharjah. The collaboration promises advancements in preventive care and chronic disease management for improved patient outcomes across regions.

The Jawaher Boston Medical District is set to transform healthcare accessibility in Sharjah by integrating advanced medical practices from leading institutions like Mass General Brigham and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute into its framework for future-ready healthcare solutions.
