Jafza Achieves Prestigious Recognition As Global Free Zone Of The Year 2024

Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) has solidified its status as a global trade and logistics leader by securing five prestigious awards at the fDi Global Free Zones of the Year 2024. Jafza was ranked first overall among free zones worldwide, also earning titles like Industrial Zone of the Year and Top Sustainable Zone in both global and Middle East categories.

The fDi Global Free Zones of the Year awards are highly esteemed in the industry, with this year's competition featuring 63 entries from around the globe. Jafza distinguished itself through significant infrastructure investments, a strong focus on sustainability, and its ability to attract diverse, high-value clients.

The Industrial Zone of the Year award acknowledges Jafza's role in supporting global manufacturing and logistics operations. With over 10,700 businesses operating within its premises, Jafza significantly contributes to Dubai's industrial output. The Top Sustainable Zone award highlights Jafza's dedication to sustainability, including its goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2050.

Jafza has implemented the largest rooftop solar project in the Middle East, installing 158,000 solar panels. This initiative saves 48,000 tons of emissions annually while generating over 30% of Jafza's yearly electricity needs. Such efforts underscore their commitment to sustainable practices.

Jafza's success is underpinned by strategic initiatives that enhance its attractiveness to global businesses. Its integrated logistics network provides seamless solutions for industries like automotive and food and beverage. Additionally, Jafza offers specialised warehousing and manufacturing facilities to support various sectors.

A panel of experts in special economic zones (SEZs) and foreign direct investment judged this year's awards. They evaluated free zones across categories such as Industrial, Knowledge, Innovation, and Rising Star Zones. Jafza excelled in multiple areas due to its comprehensive approach.
