Italian Pavilion Debuts Exclusive Handcrafted Diamond Collection At 55th Watch And Jewellery Middle East Show
The 55th Watch and Jewellery Middle East Show, hosted by Expo Centre Sharjah with support from the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), showcases a notable Italian pavilion. This pavilion introduced an exclusive collection of handcrafted diamond and jewellery pieces, crafted by renowned Italian designers. This debut in Sharjah has captivated global luxury jewellery enthusiasts.
Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI, visited the Italian pavilion. He was joined by Mohamed Rashid Ali Demas and H.E Ali Hilal Al Hazami, both SCCI Board Members, along with Mona Sultan Al Suwaidi, Director of the Executive Office of the SCCI's Chairman. They explored a diverse range of premium jewellery designs featuring rare gemstones like pure diamonds, vivid blue sapphires, and captivating emeralds.

The Italian pavilion at this year's exhibition included around 50 brands, marking a 15% increase from the previous edition. Italy emerged as the largest international presence at this event, which concludes tomorrow. This growth highlights Italy’s expanding role as a major global supplier and leading European exporter of jewellery to the UAE.
In February 2025, Italy's jewellery exports to the UAE reached €238 million, reflecting a 24% rise compared to February 2024. This achievement maintains a 5% share of the total import market. Italy remains one of the UAE's top suppliers of fine jewellery, showcasing its enduring appeal in design and craftsmanship.
Al Owais commended the robust economic ties between the UAE and Italy. He emphasised that increasing Italian participation at the show underscores the UAE’s strategic position as a global trade hub and gateway to regional markets. The growing number of Italian exhibitors reflects rising investor confidence in Sharjah's competitive business environment.
Italian exhibitors highlighted that this year's collections were custom-designed exclusively for this exhibition. Each piece is offered in highly limited editions, usually no more than two per design. This exclusivity caters to clients seeking rarity and superior quality. Additionally, all items are entirely handcrafted, enhancing their intrinsic value.
Italy’s status as a significant jewellery exporter is evident with exports exceeding €1.22 billion in 2024. The country's prominence as a leading European exporter to the UAE further solidifies its position in global markets. This expansion reflects Italy’s growing stature as a key player in luxury jewellery supply chains worldwide.
The event not only showcases exquisite designs but also strengthens economic relations between participating countries. It highlights Sharjah's role as a dynamic platform for international trade and cultural exchange within the luxury goods sector.
