International Scientists Forge Academic-Industry Partnerships In Ras Al Khaimah

Renowned scientists from prestigious universities worldwide recently embarked on a significant visit to Ras Al Khaimah, aiming to foster a symbiotic relationship between academia and the industry. This initiative, part of the 15th International Workshop on Advanced Materials (IWAM), saw these experts engage with several leading companies in the region, including RAK Ceramics, Falcon Technologies International, Hira Industries, and Spatial Composite Solutions. The focus of these visits was to discuss the potential benefits of integrating advanced materials into their operations.

The delegation included luminaries such as Prof. Sir Anthony Cheetham, chairman of the Ras Al Khaimah Centre for Advanced Materials (RAKCAM) and a professor at both the University of California and the National University of Singapore; Prof. Sir Andre Geim, Nobel Prize for Physics laureate in 2010; and Prof. Judith MacManus-Driscoll from the University of Cambridge, UK. Their presence underscored the importance of these interactions in bridging the gap between theoretical research and practical application in industry settings.
