International Programme For Civil Aviation Leaders Commences Tomorrow In Dubai With Global Participation

The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), in partnership with the Government Experience Exchange Office (GEEO) at the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs, is set to host the third edition of the "International Programme for Civil Aviation Leaders" in Dubai from November 18th to 21st. The event will feature Abdullah Bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Chairman of the GCAA, alongside over 20 ministers responsible for air transport and leaders from civil aviation authorities across Arab nations.

Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director-General of the GCAA, highlighted that this programme will serve as a significant step in enhancing cooperation and sharing knowledge within the Arab region's civil aviation sector. He noted that the participation of numerous ministers and executives underscores a collective commitment to advancing this crucial sector. The gathering aims to address key challenges and opportunities in aviation, emphasizing Arab collaboration for a sustainable future.

Civil Aviation Leaders Programme Starts in Dubai

Abdullah Al Marri expressed that under wise leadership, the UAE has launched initiatives to enhance competitiveness in civil aviation both regionally and globally. He stated: "The International Programme for Civil Aviation Leaders offers a prime platform to showcase the UAE’s efforts in advancing this vital sector through globally recognized best practices, uniting a distinguished group of leaders, experts, and specialists in air transport." The programme aims to explore future trends in innovation, sustainability, and advanced aviation technologies.

Al Suwaidi further explained that since its inception in 2019, the programme has aimed to deepen understanding of how aviation links with economic development and government innovation. This edition will include strategic presentations on topics like enhancing aviation’s role in economic growth, government transformation, strategic foresight, innovation, artificial intelligence, sustainable aviation, among other critical issues for the Arab civil aviation sector.

Abdulla Nasser Lootah, Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Competitiveness and Knowledge Exchange, emphasized that this initiative reflects the UAE's dedication to sharing its successful models with other countries. He remarked that it embodies the vision of UAE's leadership by transferring knowledge and sharing best practices with nations worldwide. This approach was solidified with the establishment of the Government Experience Exchange Office in 2018.

Lootah added that through this programme, the UAE government is committed to sharing its achievements across various sectors with sisterly and friendly countries. This effort is designed to build specialized capacities and drive progress across different fields while enhancing readiness for future challenges.

Programme Highlights

The event will take place at several iconic locations throughout the UAE including Mohammed Bin Rashid Library, Emirates Towers, Emirates Engineering Centre, Sustainability Pavilion at Expo City, along with a site visit to Strata. These venues will host discussions aimed at enriching participants' experiences and contributing towards achieving program goals.

The programme promises fruitful discussions and field visits that will enrich participants' experiences. It aims to foster growth within Arab economies while reinforcing UAE’s position as a global leader in civil aviation aligned with "We the UAE Vision 2031."
