International Government Communication Forum 2025 To Highlight Education And Innovation For Quality Of Life

The 14th International Government Communication Forum (IGCF 2025) is set for 10–11 September at Expo Centre Sharjah. Organised by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, this year's theme is "Communication for Quality of Life." The event will delve into how strategic communication can bolster wellbeing, resilience, and sustainable development across various sectors.

Keynote speakers will address topics like using education to foster a happiness economy, developing human-centred AI, and reimagining food systems. These insights aim to inspire policy changes, innovation, and practical actions that enhance global quality of life. The forum will gather three prominent international figures in education, innovation, and science alongside global leaders and communication experts.

IGCF 2025 Focuses on Education and Innovation

The forum will highlight five global priorities: food security, public health, education, environmental sustainability, and the green economy. Through discussions and knowledge exchange opportunities, it seeks to promote quality of life and strengthen communication between governments and communities. This initiative aims to inspire collaborative action towards a more equitable and sustainable future.

Malawian Engineer William Kamkwamba will deliver a keynote titled "When Thought Becomes a Force for Change." He will share his journey of building a wind turbine from simple materials to aid his drought-stricken village. Kamkwamba's story illustrates how government communication can identify grassroots innovations that empower communities to create context-specific solutions for food security and resilience.

Oussama Khatib from Stanford University will present a keynote titled "New Life Code… Human Intelligence and Interactive Technology." As President of the International Foundation of Robotics Research (IFRR), he will discuss advances in interactive robotics. Khatib will highlight how robotics can improve life quality in healthcare, education, and crisis management while stressing the need for ethical values in smart technology development.

Dr. Karan Rajan from the UK’s NHS will explore "Food Communication and the Protein Revolution: What Lies Ahead?" His keynote will focus on how communication can raise awareness about scientific advances in protein development. Dr. Rajan aims to guide communities in adopting sustainable food systems that support global food security.

Diverse Sessions Across Platforms

The two-day programme features 22 interactive platforms with panel discussions, keynote speeches, and workshops addressing today's pressing global challenges. Experts from various sectors will join representatives from government entities, international organisations, academic institutions, and media outlets to share insights.

This edition of IGCF aims to harness strategic communication as a tool for enhancing quality of life worldwide. By focusing on key areas such as education and innovation, the forum seeks to inspire policies that promote wellbeing and sustainable development across different sectors.
