Global Athletes Converge In Abu Dhabi For Prestigious Jiu-Jitsu Asian Championships

The international jiu-jitsu community is converging on Abu Dhabi as athletes, coaches, and officials from across the globe arrive for the eighth Jiu-Jitsu Asian Championships. Set to commence on Friday, this prestigious event is held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council. The Mubadala Arena will play host to over 1,500 male and female competitors from more than 30 countries, spanning from 3rd to 8th May.

Mohamed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, confirmed that all preparations for the championships have been completed. He highlighted the readiness of facilities including hotels, training centres, transportation services, and the competition arena. Al Dhaheri also praised the professional volunteers who are dedicated to ensuring a smooth experience for the delegations throughout their stay in Abu Dhabi. "We warmly welcome our guests from various parts of Asia, promising them a pleasant experience in their second home," Al Dhaheri stated, expressing gratitude towards partners, sponsors, and media representatives for their support.

Abu Dhabi Hosts Jiu-Jitsu Asian Champs

Abdullah Al Zaabi, Head of the Federation's Events and Activities Section, assured that all technical and logistical arrangements for the competitions have been finalised. He commended the subcommittees for their diligent efforts in ensuring the event's success and wished all participants a pleasant stay and success in the competitions.

Among the early arrivals are delegations from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Iraq, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, and India. These teams have expressed their enthusiasm for participating in the championship and satisfaction with the organised reception.

Mubarak Ahmed Al-Qarni from the Saudi Arabian delegation shared his excitement about participating in the championship. He emphasized his team's continuous preparation and their aim to secure medals. Al-Qarni also commended Abu Dhabi for its role as host and extended his best wishes to the event organisers.

This gathering of jiu-jitsu athletes in Abu Dhabi not only highlights the city's position as a hub for international sports events but also showcases the spirit of camaraderie and competition among participants from diverse backgrounds. As the championships unfold, all eyes will be on the Mubadala Arena where athletes will demonstrate their skills and vie for top honours in this highly anticipated event.
