Inaugural Dubai AI Week To Feature Third Edition Of Machines Can See AI Summit In April 2025
The third edition of the 'Machines Can See' AI Summit is set to take place from April 23-24, 2025, at the Museum of the Future. This event is part of Dubai AI Week, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The summit will feature 20 keynote speeches and panel discussions focusing on how artificial intelligence can make the world safer.
During the summit, attendees will explore global advancements in AI and robotics through a unique expo zone divided into three sections. This includes a startup zone and a section dedicated to UAE universities. The event aims to bring together experts, innovators, and policymakers to discuss AI's societal implications across various sectors like robotics, autonomous vehicles, industry, art, and fashion.

Saqr Binghalib, Executive Director at the Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications Office, highlighted that the UAE is accelerating its efforts to become a global leader in AI innovation. "Guided by its leadership, the UAE is harnessing AI to drive a prosperous and sustainable future. By fostering an environment that nurtures smart solutions, the UAE aims to set a benchmark for a comprehensive digital transformation," Binghalib said.
Alexander Khanin from Polynome Events emphasised the summit's broader vision: "By bringing together AI pioneers, we aim to foster community growth in the Middle East, showcasing the current capabilities of AI while exploring its potential to positively impact society." The summit will also focus on international perspectives regarding AI’s role in promoting talent retention and attraction.
The summit will host engaging panel discussions covering topics such as AI's influence on art and fashion and adversarial machine learning complexities. Participants include Hadi Badri from Dubai Economic Development Corporation at DET; Rob van der Veer from Software Improvement Group (SIG); and Paolo Benanti from Pontifical Gregorian University. These discussions aim to provide insights into ethical, economic, and technological aspects of AI.
Zhaslan Madiyev from Kazakhstan will join a panel on ‘AI to Retain and Attract Talent,’ discussing how AI development can mitigate brain drain. This session will explore how nations can position themselves as global talent hubs through strategic use of artificial intelligence.
Insights from Leading Experts
The summit will feature prominent figures in artificial intelligence like Gerard Medioni from Amazon Prime Video & Studios; Dawn Song from UC Berkeley; Michael Bronstein from DeepMind at Oxford University; and Marc Pollefeys from ETH Zurich. Their insights are expected to offer a comprehensive understanding of AI's evolving landscape across industries.
Mauro Martino from IBM Research will participate in a discussion on AI in art and visual innovation. This session will highlight how artificial intelligence is transforming artistic creativity and visual storytelling. It showcases groundbreaking innovations at the intersection of technology and creative expression.
'Machines Can See 2025' is part of Dubai AI Week—a week-long series of activities centred around artificial intelligence. Organised by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence under the oversight of the Dubai Future Foundation, this initiative connects research with real-world applications by bringing together experts, entrepreneurs, investors, public sectors, and private sectors.
