IHC Strengthens Economic Ties With Azerbaijan Through Strategic Collaboration Across Key Sectors
IHC, a global investment firm, recently concluded a strategic visit to Azerbaijan. The delegation was led by H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Syed Basar Shueb, CEO of IHC. They met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov to discuss expanding cooperation in high-growth sectors and fostering long-term partnerships.
During the visit, discussions focused on strengthening economic ties and exploring joint investments. The delegation included CEOs from IHC Group companies: Ali AlRashdi of International Resources Holding (IRH), Ajay Bhatia of Sirius International Holding, and Fouad Darwish of Palms Sports. They aimed to expand collaboration across priority sectors.

International Resources Holding (IRH) engaged with Azerbaijani ministries about potential mining ventures. These include opportunities in strategic minerals vital for global supply chains. IRH plans to introduce advanced exploration capabilities and sustainable practices to boost Azerbaijan’s resources sector.
Sirius reaffirmed its partnership through Esyasoft’s USD 480 million smart gas network project with SOCAR. This project involves AI-enabled grid management, smart metres, and digital infrastructure. Discussions also covered digital transformation in electricity and water sectors to support Azerbaijan’s energy transition.
Palms Sports, an official sponsor of Neftçi Football Club, is enhancing its partnership with Azerbaijan as part of its global expansion. Within a year, the company has established a strong presence in the country, showcasing its integrated sports development model's success.
The visit underscored Palms Sports’ dedication to broadening cooperation in football, combat sports, community programs, and athlete development. This aligns with their goal to become a leading international provider of high-performance sports solutions.
