Generative AI's Impact on Digital Innovation

Meyer discussed how generative AI is significantly impacting digital innovation across various industries. He described generative AI as a pivotal force accelerating digital transformation by creating substantial capacity for innovation. According to Meyer, "GenAI fuels optimization across functions and it will change how we think about processes, customer experience, and ecosystem partnerships." He emphasized that generative AI transforms business operations and customer interactions, driving unprecedented advancements for companies willing to embrace it.

AI-First World: Influencing Digital Strategies

Meyer also elaborated on the concept of an "AI-first" world during the interview. This concept involves organizations prioritizing artificial intelligence as a core element of their business models and strategies. In an AI-first approach, businesses integrate AI into every aspect of their operations. Initially focused on specific productivity use cases, the emphasis is shifting towards enterprise-wide AI adoption. This includes reframing working models and infusing AI into all processes and applications while treating data as a product.

Advice for CIOs Integrating AI

When asked about advice for CIOs beginning to integrate AI into their digital strategies, Meyer highlighted two key pillars: the AI-Fuelled Business Model and the AI Technology Operating Model. He advised CIOs to focus on strategy by working closely with executive leadership to ensure AI initiatives support broader business goals. "Think about how your employees are going to be impacted because the working model will be transformed," he noted. On the technology side, Meyer emphasized orchestrating a unified AI platform, autonomous processes, AI-ready data, and fit-for-purpose infrastructure.

Meyer stressed the importance of collaboration: "Recognise that you can't do it all by yourself. And neither can a single provider." He encouraged CIOs to view partners, customers, and providers as part of an ecosystem where tech roadmaps and compliance activities are aligned for innovation.
