IACAD Launches Second Edition Of Ajyal Programme To Enhance Islamic Values In Schools

The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) in Dubai has introduced the second edition of the Ajyal programme for the 2025/2026 academic year. This initiative, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), aims to promote Islamic values and national identity among students, parents, and educators.

This year's programme extends its reach to include both public and private schools. The first phase will commence in 15 public schools. Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Director-General of IACAD, highlighted that this expansion aligns with directives to nurture a generation proud of its Islamic values. He noted that positive outcomes from the first edition encouraged this broader implementation.

IACAD's Ajyal Programme Expands for 2025/2026

The programme's expansion is a direct response to parental requests for inclusion in public schools. It underscores IACAD's commitment to addressing community needs. Al Muhairi emphasized that the department remains dedicated to fostering educational growth within the school community by instilling authentic Islamic values through various interactive activities.

The Ajyal programme offers diverse activities such as motivational competitions, educational workshops, dialogue sessions, and innovative social initiatives. These activities aim to engage students actively while providing incentive awards to encourage participation. The initiative is part of the "Gheras Al Khair" project under the "Year of Community" theme.

Aisha Abdulla Miran, Director-General of KHDA in Dubai, stated: "We are committed to empowering our students, and this programme provides an opportunity to strengthen their awareness of positive values and the noble teachings of Islam, while creating a supportive and stimulating educational environment." Her remarks highlight KHDA's dedication to fostering a positive learning atmosphere.

Strengthening Community Bonds

The programme also serves as a platform for enhancing communication between students, parents, and educators. The previous academic year saw strong engagement from these groups, reinforcing the importance of collaborative efforts in education. This initiative aims to create a supportive environment where all stakeholders can contribute positively.

By integrating public schools into its framework, IACAD demonstrates its responsiveness to societal needs while promoting Islamic teachings. The Ajyal programme continues to build on its success by offering valuable opportunities for students to engage with their cultural heritage meaningfully.
