Hub71 Establishes First US Partnership With NJEDA To Enhance Global Startup Expansion

Hub71, a tech ecosystem in Abu Dhabi, has formed its first partnership with a US entity, the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA). This collaboration aims to create opportunities for high-growth startups to expand across the Atlantic. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed during the Abu Dhabi Investment Forum in New York. It establishes reciprocal access between startup ecosystems in Abu Dhabi and New Jersey, facilitating international scaling for founders.

The agreement enhances US-UAE strategic cooperation in sectors like AI and clean energy. Through joint programs, market visits, and introductions to investors and regulators, startups will receive support for entering new markets. This backing from both ecosystems will help founders access new customers, capital opportunities, and expertise tailored to accelerate their commercial success.

Hub71 Partners with NJEDA for Startups

Ahmad Ali Alwan, CEO of Hub71, stated that technology transcends borders and innovation ecosystems must strengthen ties to support global ambitions. He said their collaboration with Choose New Jersey focuses on unlocking soft-landing opportunities for startups aiming to expand internationally. This partnership also aims to deepen the exchange of knowledge, talent, and innovation between the two regions.

Tim Sullivan, NJEDA's CEO, highlighted that under Governor Murphy’s leadership, New Jersey is fostering international partnerships globally. These efforts lead to increased investments in new industries and a more diverse economy. Sullivan expressed excitement about working with Hub71 to promote opportunities in both Abu Dhabi and New Jersey.

The agreement with NJEDA complements Hub71’s expanding portfolio of international partnerships. Recently, Hub71 formed a strategic alliance with the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) to advance cross-border collaboration between the UAE and Japan. These partnerships underscore Hub71’s dedication to building a globally connected ecosystem that facilitates innovation exchange across key markets.

As Abu Dhabi continues establishing itself as a global hub for technology and innovation, this partnership reinforces Hub71’s role in enabling startup growth through international collaboration. Aligning with world-leading tech ecosystems further strengthens its position in fostering startup development.

This initiative marks a significant step towards creating pathways for ventures to achieve global scale by opening up ecosystems to one another. By doing so, it supports founders' ambitions on an international level while promoting economic growth through diverse collaborations.
