Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Qasimi Inaugurates HSE EXPO 2025 To Enhance Health And Safety Standards
The second Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Expo was inaugurated by H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC). Held at the Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre, this two-day event aims to enhance health, safety, and environmental standards across sectors by uniting industry leaders, regulatory bodies, and experts.
During the opening ceremony, the UAE national anthem was played. Following this, SNOC CEO Hatem Dhiyab Al Mussa welcomed attendees. He stressed that health and safety are not just priorities but core values essential for project operation, leadership, and growth. The expo focuses on creating a safe work environment amidst global changes.
Al Mussa highlighted that despite numerous changes in global projects, health and safety remain constant. These elements evolve to support project growth and worker welfare across various sectors. He emphasised the dynamic nature of these sectors and the responsibility of specialised institutions to implement effective health and safety measures.
The expo features technical workshops aimed at enhancing health and safety through innovative solutions. These workshops focus on achieving "zero" injuries at work sites by investing in human resources to improve work quality. The event encourages proactive thinking for sector sustainability.
A panel discussion titled "Project Life Cycle Strategies for Contractor Compliance" was held during the event. Experts discussed developing emergency response stages while focusing on health, safety, and environmental issues. They stressed conducting studies to support project continuity and interests.
The session also highlighted examples of Sharjah projects implementing health and safety standards without recording any injuries or losses. It emphasised establishing a culture of health and safety within organisations by reviewing models from both local and international contexts.
Exhibition Highlights
The Deputy Ruler toured the exhibition featuring various governmental and private entities specialising in health, safety, and environment services. The exhibition aims to foster collaboration, knowledge exchange, and solution implementation benefiting institutions, industries, and society amidst sector challenges.
The exhibition encourages companies to move beyond mere compliance towards leadership in health, safety, and environmental management. It includes discussion panels, practical training sessions, live shows on emergency preparedness, risk mitigation strategies, sustainability insights from experts in Sharjah's evolving systems.
Future Agenda for Safety
The Health, Safety, and Environment Expo 2025 sets an agenda for future workplace safety responsibilities. Supported by sponsors, partners, universities nationwide; it highlights latest technologies in risk management occupational health environmental safety aiming progress through collaboration innovation amidst challenges faced sectors.
