House Of Wisdom Recognised As Best Arab Library And Information Institution At Sharjah Awards

The House of Wisdom (HoW) in Sharjah has been honoured as the "Best Arab Library and Information Institution" at the 25th Sharjah Library Literature Award. This accolade was given during the opening of the 4th Sharjah Library Literature Forum, organised by Sharjah Public Libraries. The event focused on "Information institutions and cultural and creative industries."

Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri, CEO of the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA), presented the award to Marwa Al Aqroubi, Executive Director of HoW. This recognition highlights HoW's role in fostering a knowledge-based environment that combines modern technology with social engagement. The forum gathered leading institutions, experts, and researchers in library and information sciences from across the Arab region.

HoW Named Best Arab Library Institution

Marwa Al Aqroubi expressed pride in this achievement, stating it reflects His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi's vision to make Sharjah a hub of knowledge that balances tradition with innovation. She also acknowledged H.H. Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi’s initiative to establish HoW as a centre for cultural innovation and intellectual dialogue.

Al Aqroubi elaborated on HoW's mission: "We see HoW as a modern cultural institution deeply rooted in thought, art, and dialogue. Through our programmes, exhibitions, and events for all ages, we strive to build bridges between cultures; and this accolade reinforces our dedication to advancing knowledge and inspiring future generations through innovative projects that foster awareness, community, and creativity."
