Hilton Plans Major Expansion In Egypt With 25 New Hotels By 2027

Hilton is significantly increasing its footprint in Egypt, aiming to operate more than 40 hotels in the near future. This expansion includes the introduction of over 10 new properties under its award-winning brands, marking a significant stride towards tripling its presence in the country, bringing the total number to 25.

Among the upcoming launches is the Hilton Cairo Nile Maadi, set to open its doors in early 2025. This property, situated in Cairo's affluent Maadi district, promises contemporary rooms with breathtaking views of the Nile and the Pyramids, highlighting Hilton's commitment to growth and excellence in Egypt.

Hilton to Open 25 New Hotels in Egypt

In addition to the Maadi location, Hilton is set to revolutionize hospitality in Egypt with the launch of several other hotels. The company plans to debut its lifestyle brand, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, in Africa, alongside Egypt's first Curio Collection by Hilton and an all-inclusive resort under the Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand.

One of the pivotal projects includes the Hilton Cairo Historic City, slated to open in 2027. This hotel is part of a collaboration with City Edge Developments and will be nestled within the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Old Cairo's Magra El Oyoun. It will boast 255 guest rooms and suites, superior dining, meeting and event spaces, alongside a gym and other fitness amenities.

Another significant addition is the DoubleTree by Hilton Cairo Downtown, expected to welcome guests in 2028, offering 257 guest rooms and suites and a variety of dining and wellness options.

Hilton's commitment to Egypt extends beyond new openings. Several existing hotels in its Egypt portfolio, such as Ramses Hilton, Hilton Pyramids Golf, and Hilton Cairo Heliopolis, are undergoing renovations to modernize their offerings.

Additionally, the Hilton Marsa Alam Nubian Resort is set to expand with 66 new guest rooms and suites, while the DoubleTree by Hilton Sharm El Sheikh - Sharks Bay Resort is in the midst of a comprehensive renovation, with completion of the first phase expected by June 2025.

The expansion into resort destinations is also noteworthy, with Hilton signing three agreements with Concord Co. for Tourist Development S.A.E and Africa for Real Estate Investment. These include the Curio Collection by Hilton in Sharm El Sheikh, poised to open in 2027, offering a unique blend of design, dining, and curated experiences on Egypt's Red Sea coast.

Additionally, in the Marsa Alam region, Hilton will introduce the Curio Collection by Hilton and Tapestry Collection by Hilton brands, further diversifying its resort offerings.

Hilton's aggressive expansion in Egypt is set to create over 5,000 new job opportunities, demonstrating the company's dedication to contributing to local communities and talent development. Hilton has even launched its own hospitality school in Egypt, partnering with academic institutions and universities to train and recruit the next generation of hospitality professionals.

Carlos Khneisser, Hilton's vice president of development for the Middle East & Africa, said, "Egypt is our longest standing market in the MEA region, where we've been operating for more than 60 years. We are excited to continue building on this legacy as we accelerate our growth, and we look forward to working closely with our valued owners to provide guests with reliable and friendly stays across the country.

"The debut of our lifestyle brands in Egypt marks an important milestone, allowing guests to truly immerse themselves in the rich experiences the country has to offer," Khneisser stated.
